As we continue through the Easter Season, the Church does not want us to lose sight of our journey toward Pentecost, which is the last and greatest day of Easter. (The Resurrection is such an important event, that we can’t compress its celebration into just one day: Easter goes on for fifty days!) On the last day of Easter, Pentecost, we celebrate the Spirit. And it is the Spirit—Jesus' gift to us from the Father—who directs our individual lives, brings the Church to life, and sends us on mission as disciples. This is quite evident in the readings that we use at Mass throughout the Easter season, whether on Sundays or weekdays. Pentecost is already "anticipated" in these days after Easter Sunday.

We cannot escape the love of God! We also cannot escape grief. So many people are suffering from the loss of a loved one, loss of job, or the loss of a relationship. Grief takes many forms. One thing we know for sure about grief is that love is healing.
